The Laredo Police Department, in partnership with the 9-1-1 Regional Administration, is excited to announce its upcoming Back-to-School event designed to prepare local students for a successful academic year. The event will take place on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at the Sames Auto Arena from 9am to 2pm
This community-focused event offers a variety of free resources and services, including school supplies, health screenings, and wellness check-ups, all aimed at supporting families and students as they prepare for the new school year.
Highlights of the event include:
- Free school supplies to help students start the year with the essentials (student must be present)
- Complimentary haircuts for a fresh look before school begins (while services last)
- Free sports physicals for young athletes (limited quantities)
- Immunizations to promote health and prevent illness (Child's Immunization Record & Birth Certificate and Parents ID/DL Required) *while supplies last
- Vision screenings to ensure clear sight for learning (Prescriptions Not Provided)
The event is open to all community members, and attendance is required for students participating in the activities. Families are encouraged to arrive early, as supplies are limited.
